Casa Olivar is set amongst thousands of olive trees. Come if you want some peace and quiet, in the evenings the frogs make themselves heard, the occasional car passes on the dirt road outside, otherwise not much sound other then what me make ourselves. Having no close neighbours also means no one minds if we have loud music in the patio or the children shout and laugh in the pool. During the summer the pool is the main attraction and necessity. The rest of the year the Jacuzzi, petanque court, billiard board and fish pond are welcomed activities. What we also like about the place is that it is small. If a group of friends, colleagues or family of 6 or more book – they can have the whole place for themselves! We also have a small minibus that we can use for tours.
As you can see of our photo – we have lived a while, and we are both pensioners. Starting a guesthouse has been exciting, exhausting, and educational. Now the time has come for us just to enjoy the experience! We love hosting, meeting new friends and always trying to give our guests memories to take home with them. When he's not playing the piano (mainly smooth jazz) Stein is responsible for the pool, most of the food making and keeping the outdoor area looking nice. Tina takes care of reservations, serving, laundry and cleaning. We both love interacting with our guests. It’s fine balance between leave folk alone when the want privacy and making contact with them that like the company. We try to make the balance. Someone has said “Strangers are only friends we have yet to meet” -that’s what we believe.
We could never live in the complete wilderness! Yes it is peaceful and tranquil right here, but you only have to stroll down to the village to have a choice of local pubs. The vibrant beautiful city of Granada is a half hour drive away, and if you feel you have to bathe in the Mediterranean sea, you 'll be there after a 70 min drive. Andalucia is wonderful but fairly undiscovered part of Spain. But if you want to experience stunning nature, the largest producers of olive oil in the world, the majestic "Alhambra de Granada", friendly people that love that you at least try to say some Spanish words, and of course free tapa with every drink - well your in the right place here.
