Lanjaron continues to be a very safe holiday destination. The house is elegant and comfortable and has the perfect location in the picturesque plaza of Santa Ana - a pretty plant filled square with no through traffic where you can hear the running water from the "fuente" below. The modern yet rustic style fitted chestnut kitchen is fully equipped with 4 ring hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave etc. The sitting room is spacious yet cosy with its "pueblo" type fireplace. There is an small TV as well as a library of books for guests. The main bedroom with balcony windows offers a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a platform big single bed (alternatively there is a single"sofa bed" in this bedroom). On the roof terrace There is a big sun umbrella and 2 loungers where you can sunbathe or enjoy evening drinks while admiring the views of the mountains and the coast or indeed have a small bbq on the terrace. There is free INTERNET. The house is distinguished by its successful fusion of stylish design and sympathetic restoration of traditional architecture with tasteful attention to detail and colour. At the same time it has a very central location to all the amenities.
I normally like to welcome guests on arrival and even check out with them how they are getting on or if they need any advice etc. I live very close by if there are any problems etc so guests have the entire use of the house. I am also happy to point guests in the right direction for trips out, walks in the area and restaurants or the best beaches on the coast.
Guests seem to love the movement during the day around the town and especially chatting with the immediate neighbours who often come to sit on the benches in the plaza. People are friendly here and very accepting of our visitors. The town has all the usual shops, supermarkets and banks as well as local restaurants and cafes. Lanjaron is famous as a spa town and has its own mineral water bottling factory - Lanjaron water can be purchased almost everywhere in Spain. It also has an interesting honey museum (the town is well known for it's excellent honey). In summer there are 2 public swimming pools usually open during the months of July and August. Above all it's a wonderful environment for walking/trekking/cycling with very easy access from the town itself to the countryside. Lanjaron is an ideal location from which to explore not only the Alpujarras but also Granada city (the Alhambra is a must) and the coast. Both can be reached by car in about 25 minutes. Granada also has a ski resort (just an hours drive from the town)
