We have lived on Lanzarote since 2006. Our three children have grown up here and are part of the community. We love Haria, the local life, walking the trails, and soaking up the sun! The slower pace of life suits us well. We are ready to help you get to know the area and its attractions, plan walks etc. The house is an old Canarian house which was built in 1900. Many of the original characteristics are still in place. We converted the detached property in 2017 and divided it into two separate spaces including a space for guests with the original private entrance. We live next door with a couple of dogs and a couple of cats. You may hear us but we are quiet! We want to make sure our guests have the best experience possible staying with us in Haria. To this end guest feedback is really important to us. As we are next door we can help with any problems which may arise. Please let us know! If young children are part of the booking but have not included them on the booking please inform us so we can ensure we set the rooms accordingly. And if you are a booking of two and still require two beds please let us know in advance. Please read the description of the house before booking.
Haria is an original Canarian village known as the valley of a thousand palms. It is a sheltered green oasis in the north of the island. Here you can enjoy a slower pace of life as you soak up local culture wandering around the village or sitting at a bar. The local plaza is a few minutes walk away offering a few great value Canarian bars/restaurants and shops. If you enjoy leisurely or more challenging walks, there are many scenic routes to choose from. There are also tourist attractions close by such as Cesar Manrique's house, Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verde, Mirador del Rio, and Jardin de Cactus. Haria is also home to an artisan market in the plaza every Saturday. And for beach lovers, the closest beach, Playa la Garita, is just 6km away. The surrounding villages are well worth a visit such as Punta Mujeres with its secluded sea pools, Orzola with its surfing beach, fish restaurants, and ferry service to the small island of Graciosa, and Mala which leads to the picturesque naturist village of Charco del Palo. Haria is an ideal centre for your holiday with most of the island attractions in areas like Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen no more than a 35 min drive away.
