We welcome you to Casa Vida in the village of La Magdalena, Murcia, Spain to enjoy a ´home from home´ feeling. We offer self catering holidays & mosaic art courses throughout the year with the accommodation part of the house but completely private & secure. We can offer self catering holidays for upto 4/5 guests, sleeping in 2 x twin/double and 2 x single bedrooms. The guest area also has a dining/sitting area, kitchen, outside shower and use of the pool and poolside areas too. The bedrooms are air conditioned and comfortable.The kitchen has a hob, fridge, microwave sink and is full equipped with utensils and cutlery.
The Retreat house used to be the village school back in the day and would have been the hub of this tiny village. At Casa Vida you can sit among the lemon and orange trees in the Mediterranean garden and listen to the sounds of the wind chimes, the birds and feel the gentle mountain breeze. For 15 years we have run & hosted holidays for pilates, yoga and mosaic art guests. These have been for individuals and small groups staying, eating and enjoying the surroundings of Casa Vida. The Retreat house is split into 2 parts, the guest part has a private lounge, kitchenette, courtyard, therapy room and the bedrooms. Viv and Dan live in the other half of the house with their rescue dogs and are on hand to help, give local advice and make sure your holiday runs smoothly. Along the way we have also collected rescue dogs which are now older, quieter, well behaved and loved by the guests especially for the free strokes. The dog´s aren´t allowed in the guest living areas and have their own garden at the back of the property. However if you aren´t a dog lover or have strong allergic reactions to dogs Casa Vida probably isn´t the holiday for you.
La Magdalena is a tiny village in the countryside (campo) of the city of Cartagena, in the region of Murcia, Spain. The village is surrounded by almond groves and vegetable crops but has easy access to the whole region. Murcia International Airport is only 25mins away and Alicante airport 1hr 10mins by car but you can catch a coach from both airports to Cartagena then a short taxi ride to Casa Vida. Cartagena is an ancient harbour city with lots of historic attractions to explore. Good restaurants, museums and a great shopping centre. Up and down the coast around Cartagena there are lots of unspoilt beaches but also larger ports and villages for tourists. The port of Mazarron is just 25mins away and has numerous unspoilt beaches, 30 minutes to the famous La Manga strip and the Mar Menor where people go to bathe in the salt lakes, with its many healing benefits. From Casa Vida the nearest beach is El Portus, which is only 15mins by car and again has a relaxed, unspoilt Spanish feel. The city of Murcia and the range of mountains, the Sierra Espuna, a stunning nature reserve are 45mins by car and make for a great day out exploring.
