La Casita Barbara se encuentra a 34 km de Málaga y a 29 km de Marbella. El aeropuerto más cercano es el de Málaga, ubicado a 21 km.
Casita Barbara is a only a 30-minute drive from Malaga airport and the track to the property is easily accessed immediately off a dual carriageway. The track itself is bumpy in places. Access to the property is via remote control gates which take you along the driveway to the main villa. You can park under the car porch here and walk behind the main villa through the garden across the shingle to reach the Casita. There is wifi connection and a TV which works with DVDs (not hooked up to local TV or Sky). We wouldn’t recommend staying in the Casita with a young independently mobile child due to risk of injury if unsupervised as the grounds slope steeply down behind a wall/hedge to the vast lower land. Our neighbours (down the hill from us) run a charity for rescued and abandoned dogs. They home most of these elsewhere in a shelter but keep some of them as their own pets. As is the case in Spain, the dogs may spend much of the day outdoors and will bark if disturbed. This doesn’t spoil the beauty and otherwise tranquillity of the place for us but if you are wanting to doze around the pool and any barking bothers you, please bring earphones with your favourite music!
Coin is a lovely town with an attractive old centre and a large surrounding modern town with palm trees, cycle paths and a good road network. There are four big supermarkets (Lidl, Aldi, Dia and Mercadona) and numerous smaller ones. Coin is also well served for local bars and restaurants, banks, post office, petrol stations, shops etc. There are also number of retail parks in the region which have multiple shops and restaurants. The nearest is called La Canada, a 25-minute drive towards Marbella. It is a massive indoor shopping centre with restaurants and cinema and other large stores on the same park. Glamorous Marbella is a 30-minute drive from the property where there is a host of attractions including a wonderful promenade along the beach where you can walk or cycle to Puerto Banus and beyond. There are countless beautiful places to visit in and around the area including the beautiful city of Malaga is only 30 minutes away.
