Set in the Andalucian countryside, Cortijo El Tunante is the perfect off grid, eco-friendly hideaway. Relax by the swimming pool and take in the magnificent views of the surrounding olive and almond groves, towards the distant coastal mountains. The cortijo is perched on the side of a hill, far from the nearest neighbour, giving you perfect peace, privacy and tranquility in this rural retreat. Less than 50 minutes drive from Malaga Airport through the Andalusian mountains, we're easy to find. We're off the beaten track, along a 3km country road, so we'd advise getting to us in a crossover/SUV. You can hire one from Malaga airport and it'll give you the freedom to explore the neighbouring towns and picturesque villages. Otherwise we can arrange transportation for you. Each casita has a private table on your terrace for a morning coffee or a quiet read in the shade. There is a communal pool, & BBQ/bar area. Both casitas can be booked (with interconnecting doors) as one unit - which will give you more space and exclusivity of the whole place - apart from us and our two lovely dogs, but of course we'll keep out of your way if you want, as it's your holiday
We understand that people want different things from holidays and so we have decided to keep the apartments self-catering whilst offering a lot of optional extras to help to keep your stay fun and relaxing. We are about a 15 minute drive away from the village of Riogordo which has bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a museum. The village of Colmenar is about 20 minutes away and is best known for its embutidos (butchers) and their wild boar meat (jabalies). Why not bring some back to stick on the BBQ? And you must go and sample some local honey at the Museo de la Miel. White washed Comares is a 30 minutes drive through the beautiful countryside. At 750 metres high, take in the stunning vistas all of the way down the coast. Follow the guided walk (look for the feet tiles on the pebbled streets), stopping off at a tapas bar or two, along the way. There will be more information about the area and beyond when you get here - there is usually a market on nearby or a fiesta to visit and so much to explore throughout Andalucia.
