Pros: 1. The prompt correspondence before we arrived and the genuine sense of care that was conveyed. (Pity that did not match with the actual reality once we arrived.) 1. Being given the key details promptly when we called, and the necessary information for access. 2. The size of the apartment, which was as described. 3. The cleanliness of the accommodation. 4. The proximity to the underground station. 5. The comfortable beds, though the lack of space between the bed and the walls was far too small. Overall, the apartment was comfortable and as expected, but the value for money aspect could have been improved with a little more care and attention to the routine elements.
Contras: 1. Someone should have been at the property to greet us on arrival, especially as there was no information guidance in the apartment about the neighbourhood and other essentials, like where to put rubbish. What was the point of asking for our arrival time, and then us having to wonder how we were going to get into the property? 2. We complained about one of the bedroom TV remote being missing the day after we arrived, and nothing was done about it, despite a promise to sort it out. Yet the TV couldn't be operated without it, being set so high above our heads. It spoilt the enjoyment for the person using that bedroom. 3. Staying for 10 days, as we did, we expected the sheets to be changed at least once, and there were also no spare blankets in case we needed them. 4. The pillows (or excuses for pillows!) were simply awful. 5. Lack of a usable knife, instead of the pretty blunt one that was left for use. When you have a family that you need to cater for daily, a blunt useless knife is no laughing matter. 6. As there were no instructions on how to use the free WiFi, we spent the whole first evening wondering what to do until we realised that we we should have had a code to use it and hadn't been given one. We had to write to request it. 7. Worst of all, was the cigarette lighter left for us to light the cooker with, instead of a proper, safer, gaslighter. It was a dangerous exercise trying to light each ring without getting burnt. A couple of these might sound trivial, but when you have to put up with them daily, on a holiday you hope to enjoy, they truly spoil the experience.
