## The neighborhood With exciting new galleries and upmarket food stops appearing across the neighbourhood, Chamberí is most definitely experiencing it’s “moment” in recent years. This change is typified by the opening of the excellent Galería Machado-Muñoz in 2015, a contemporary design and furniture gallery with rolling exhibitions of incredible modern design. Despite its gentrification and move into being considered a trendy area, the neighbourhood still retains a certain authentic charm. Locations such as Plaza de Chamberí, with playgrounds for youngsters and meeting places for friends, and the Mercado de Chamberí, with fruit, veg, bread and meat stalls, show off the charm of the local area from a local perspective.
