Eixample Derecha (Eixample right) is, as the name might suggest, the eastern part of fashionable neighborhood Eixample. The neighborhood was one of the first ones to be built outside the medieval walls of Barcelona. This is best illustrated by the grid pattern in which the neighborhood is built in. This is a sharp contrast to the older part of Barcelona. A number of Barcelona’s landmarks and important areas are located in this area. For instance, the famous Placa de Catalunya and the important shopping street Passeig de Gracia is located in this neighborhood. Not to forget Casa Mila or La Pedrera which is one of Barcelona’s biggest tourist attractions. If you are looking to stay in the very heart of Barcelona, Eixample Derecha would be an appropriate place for you to stay considering its proximity to everything.
