Torrox is a coastal town in the region of Axarquía, reputed for having the finest weather in Europe. Its impressive historical heritage includes the Roman archaeological site of El Faro and the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación. Other must stops for tourists are the Convent of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, the Mint House and the Church of San Roque. The old town, a few kilometres from the coast, is a white village with Moorish resemblances.
