Punta Mujeres is a sleepy little fishing village where you can totally immerse yourselves in a Canarian cultural experience far away from the main tourist areas and mostly undiscovered by tourist operators. This is a hidden gem where you encounter only the local fishermen and a few more adventurous travellers. However due to this island being so small it is still only a 40 minutes drive from the main airport and in easy reach of all Lanzarote’s other great experiences. Here you are off the beaten track as many tourists unknowingly bypass this hidden secret as they make their way to bigger name attractions, that are still nearby, such Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes. There are a surprising number of little supermarkets dotted around the village, Las Rosas – the bakery and a good selection of restaurants such as Palenke which often offers live Spanish entertainment and has a wood fired grill that produces some good food.
